The result was shooting this 3 year old game to the top of the iOS & Steam Charts. It just goes to show that even a small indie dev team of 3, through sheer hard work and utter determination, along with constant updates, can get picked up by some influential streamers. Not just settling for App Store domination, they’re also top of the pops on Steam too, beating out the Fall Guys and countless other “Triple A” games. The voice acting alone makes this game worth it.It’s official, Among Us, by the 3 person Dev team InnerSloth, takes pole position as the #No.1 in the App Store game chart, but not only that, it’s number 1 in the overall US store, ker’ching indeed! Up to 4 players can brawl in BattleBlock Theater's arena mode, but where the game really shines is in the hilarious story mode, which can be played co-op by 2 players. This game is just as fun to watch as it is to play: "Gang Beasts is a silly multiplayer party game with surly gelatinous characters, brutal slapstick fight sequences, and absurd hazardous environments, set in the mean streets of Beef City."
#FUN CASUAL GAMES ON STEAM FREE#
Another fun Jackbox game, Drawful 2 is free right now on Steam!)

(3-8 players): The t-shirt slugfest where you battle your custom t-shirts to the death! Guesspionage (2-8 players): The brain-battering data-mining guessing game.Trivia Murder Party (1-8 players): A deadly quiz show where you match wits with a trivia-obsessed killer.Quiplash 2 (3-8 players): The say-anything sequel. While I recommend any of the six current Jackbox Party Packs, the third installment is the most popular, and includes these 5 titles: Most of the titles support up to 8 players, and also include "audience participation" if your group is larger, someone joins mid-game, etc. The game was primarily designed for in-person multiplayer, but the host simply needs to stream via Discord (or Twitch, but the delay can be detrimental), and everyone can enjoy playing together no matter where they are. Everyone else can easily hop in via web browser, tablet, or mobile. They are especially great because, like a traditional board game, only 1 person in the group needs to own the actual game. While there are plenty of built-in stopping points, you might lose track of time and play for hours!Īll Jackbox games are similar to the casual board games you play when hanging out with friends - think Cards Against Humanity, Telestrations, charades, etc. Succeeding at each level feels a bit like figuring out an escape room. Partner up with a friend to solve increasingly-difficult Portal puzzles together, or just "accidentally" kill each other in silly ways. You don't need any prior knowledge of Portal to enjoy co-op, just the ability to use simple first-person camera controls. Portal 2's single player campaign is beloved by many, as is the online co-op mode. I do recommend Overcooked 2 instead of its predeccessor, which lacks standard online multiplayer capabilites (unless you use Steam Remote Play) There's great seasonal DLC (some of which is free), so it's a game you can keep coming back to as new levels are released. (I've written previously about my love of Overcooked and how it is reminiscent of my time working in an actual kitchen.)

Simple controls leave you to focus solely on the real challenge: working together and communicating quickly in a very hectic and goofy setting.
